Lion & me went back to Kluang for 3N2D to celebrate for my mum's & newphew's birthday. Guess what, we were also luncy enough to get our passport done on 30/Apr.
We both are extremely impressed by the new system of producing a new passport. It was done in 3 hours and we do not need to take another day off for the collection which the government really deserves 2 thumbs up for the efficiency.
In addition, you can also see some banners hang in the office & some tags worn by the officers which promote "Servis dengan Senyuman Program". This is also a good news as those officers are looking more friendly & helpful when you approach them. Guess what, you can even get the service evaluation form from the counter if you are interested in giving feedback to their service.
If you are planning to renew/make a passport, here is a checklist which might be useful:-
1. Immigration office opens at 8am. As to ensure you can get the passport done on the same day, pls wake up earlier in order to get a good number for the queue. (Sharing: If you are in a hurry, even you are able to get a good number for the queue, pls remember to ask whether they are able to complete your application on the same day before you pay for it.)
2.Two pieces of passport size photos and both of the photos should be in the same pattern. (Sharing: We didn't really prepare for the photos when we went to the immigration. I was lucky enough to dig out 2 pieces photos from my purse, whilst Lion was forced to spend RM12 to take some new photos for the passport. The photo background HAS TO BE in blue.)
3. One piece of photostated IC with front & back view.
4. Application is only acceptable if you have an valid address in that state which you apply for the passport. (Sharing: Since we settle down in Penang, we put Penang address in the application form initially. However, we were told by the officer that we have to put Kluang address as the application is made in Kluang branch. Luckily, I can still remember my hometown address.)
5. Most importantly, pls bring RM300 if you are planning to make a 32-pages passport.
This is one of the improvement that I have personally experienced in this country. I do look forward to seeing more to come :O)
Malaysia, pls prove to me that you are really BOLEH!
